The new Fiat Panda 4x4 has just the right amount of visual gumption to enhance the city car’s appeal. It’s still cute, but with just a hint of purpose to it – a bit like an angry jelly baby.
Even Autotrader had last week a 2010 Panda with 80k miles for 2000 (An AA sealer, with warranty and everything). I thought that car was expensive so I passed, but the car was gone in 2 days. So yeah just wondering what are the general thoughts of Fiat Pandas as a first car. The market for them seems to be less competitive.
I recall that the Fiat panda have been highly regarded on the PistonHeads forum as a first car mainly due to it having more then average HP, compared to the typical first cars ,which tend to only have around 60-80hp. And due to the fact it's not a typical young person's first car it should be cheaper to insure then less powerful cars.
You'd have to be producing 150 bhp + to warrant brakes so big that you have to have 15" wheels. 15" doesn't look too bad with very low profile tyres, if you remember this pic the tyres are 185/55/15's which is too big. 165/65/13's are generally thought to be ideal for a Panda, so to get the same rolling radius with a 15" wheel you'd need 165/50
A Fiat Panda offers a good amount of boot space considering its compact size. It has a capacity of 225 litres, and by sliding the rear seats forward this can be expanded to 260 litres. With the rear seats down this expands to 870 litres.
